2022.7 Melbourne
In Melboune! This is my first time in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere!
Last year I took part in the streaming project, SLOW MOVEMENT Showcase & Forum, focusing on performing arts for people with disabilities. I sang with Sound Art Ensemble, the Amplified Elephants from Melbourne, Australia. I came to Melbourne for the shooting and rehearsal for the Big Anxiety Festival this autumn.
RMIT university
Jonathan Duckworth, Associate Professor of RMIT University and Shigenori Mochizuki, Associate Professor of Ritsumeikan University lead this project.
3D shooting at RMIT University! Unfortunately, I cannot participate in the Big Anxiety Festival this autumn because of the performances in Europe, so my avatar will perform with “The Amplified Elephants” (an ensemble for sound artists with and without disability) .
Shigenori Mochizuki, Associate Professor of Ritsumeikan University also participated in the shooting online.
James Hullick, a composer and pianist, very important artist in Australia. He leads “The Amplified Elephants” and has performed all over the world. The quality is very high and I am very impressed with what he has been doing.
We were very honored to have an online meeting with Junjii Shimada, Consul General of Japan in Melbourne.
I and Jonathan Duckworth, Associate Professor of RMIT University explained the project.
“HAGOROMO”will be performed at Big Anxiety Festival from 13 to 15 October.
