2024.12.14 Concert in San Sebastián

I toured Spain in mid-December.

The important Spanish music media “Melómano (Music Lovers)” also had advance notice of my Spanish tour. “Between 14 and 21 December, the Noh singer and specialist in contemporary music will give three concerts in Spain with cellist Aldo Mata.”
My tour of Spain started in San Sebastián.San Sebastián is famous for its fine food. I went bar hopping. This is a European summer resort, and the beach was very beautiful. On 13 December, I gave a lecture at the Musikene-School of Music of the Basque Country.

The university building designed by GAZ architects’ studio was an amazing example of cutting edge architecture.
Everyone was very interested and asked many questions. With composer Gabriel Erkoreka and students. Zuriñe F. Gerenabarrena, whom I always play her music, also teaches here and attended it.

I had a concert at the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastián on 14 December.

The venue, the San Telmo Museum, is located in the heart of the old town and is housed in a 16th-century Renaissance convent. The corridor is very beautiful.
There is also an exhibition of Basque culture from the Neolithic period to the present, and a fine art collection including works by El Greco.
The venue was a wonderful church with a mural by Jose Maria Sert. Musikagileak Contemporary Music Circuit
