2025.12.15 Concert at Sen-Oku Hakukokan Museum Tokyo
On 15 December I performed a concert with cellist Ayano Kamimura as a related event for the special exhibition, “The Beauty of Hospitality – A Gathering of Noh and Tea,” at Sen-Oku Hakukokan Museum Tokyo.

The special exhibition, “The Beauty of Hospitality – A Gathering of Noh and Tea,” brings together exquisite Noh masks and costumes passed down through the Sumitomo family, alongside prestigious tea utensils.

For this program, I made the selections after studying the exhibition catalog beforehand and visiting the museum to gain inspiration. Tickets sold out in just a few hours, and I was deeply moved by the enthusiastic reception from the full-house audience!

The program distributed on the day was bilingual (Japanese and English) and featured rich content, including photographs kindly provided by the curator. It even included photos of collections not featured in the current exhibition, which I hope will serve as an incentive for visitors to return to Sen-Oku Hakukokan in the future.

Hervé Boutry, former Director of the Ensemble intercontemporain, and Louwrens Langevoort, former Intendant of the Kölner Philharmonie, also came to hear the concert.
