2020.9.6 Voix Nouvelles 2020

I came to Royaumont, France to perform at Concert de l’académie Voix Nouvelles on 6 September. I am very honored to stay at King’s room in Royaumont. This room is that the founder of Royaumont abbey, Louis 9th stayed. I really enjoy historical and beautiful stained glass.Fantastic food in Royaumont !Académie Voix Nouvelles is the academy for young composers. This year 10 participants stay for 2 weeks and on the last day there will be world premieres of their new pieces. 4 composers wrote new pieces for Noh voice and ensemble.

On 30 August, we had a lecture by French composer, Frédéric Durieux at Royaumont academy. I will premiere his piece for Noh voice and string quartet in “Noh × Contemporary Music” in Tokyo on 20 October 2020.

He talked about his new piece for 2 hours. Unfortunately we cannot have him in Tokyo due to the Japanese government’s travelling restrictions from overseas. But I am so happy that we could meet here and talk. Thank you very much for your talk! I really appreciated that the Academy organized his lecture!

We are rehearsing very hard for the concert on 6 September.I found the music stand which made of stone!There are many beautiful rehearsal spaces!

I performed 4 new pieces especially for me composed by wonderful young composers at Concert de l’académie Voix Nouvelles in Royaumont, France with Ensemble Musikfabrik and Mariano Chiacchiarini!

I am very happy to work with fantastic Ensemble Musikfabrik again! Last year, I performed Peter Eötvös “Secret Kiss” at Berlin Philharmonie, Cologne, Budapest with Ensemble Musikfabrik!

Academy Voix Nouvelles does not finish only this year but also gives more chances for young composers. They will give 8 commissions to composers, which include a new piece for Noh voice. Manuel Hidalgo Navas will write for me and Carl Rosman, the clarinetist from Musikfabrik!

André Jolivet’s daughter, Christine Jolivet will support the commission fee. We really appreciate that!
