2021.11.14 Ars Musica Music Festival
I came back to Bruseels for Ars Musica Music Festival in Belgium on 14 November!
I rehearsed with Quatuor Amôn and Claude Ledoux.
This music festival is one of the largest music festivals of contemporary music and has been held annually in Brussels since 1989. The theme of this year is “Vox (Voice)”, and traditional voices from all over the world was introduced. I performed the Japanese “Noh voice” in Belgium.
The venue is Bozar.
I premiered Belgium’s leading composer, Claude Ledoux’s new piece, Noriko Baba’s “hagoromo suite” with Quatuor Amôn. Claude Ledoux is familiar with Japanese culture. His new piece is very unique and interesting based on Noh “Fuji Taiko”. Toshio Hosokawa and Dai Fujikura’s string quartet pieces were also played in the concert.
