2023.6.2 Film “Living Together: Calligrapher Shoko Kanazawa” released
I took part in the singing for the film “Living Together: Calligrapher Shoko Kanazawa”, which was released on 2 June. Shoko Kanazawa is now known as a genius calligrapher. She was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome soon after birth, and her mother, Yasuko, tried to deal with it. I sang the Heart Sutra, which was a support for them to overcome their hardships.
I watched the whole film for the first time at today’s preview and was reminded of the importance of living a life. I met Shoko Kanazawa there.
The music is by composer Yohei Kobayashi. I appreciated the producer Yusuke Kamata and director Masaaki Miyazawa.
On 2 June, the day of film release, I happened to be in Hamamatsu for the concert and visited Ryouunji Temple.
The Hannya Shingyou Sutra by Shoko Kanazawa is on permanent display at Ryouunji Temple.
In the film “Living Together: Calligrapher Shoko Kanazawa”, I am singing the Hannya Shingyo in the scene where she is just writing this Hannya Shingyo.
The film “Living Together: Calligrapher Shoko Kanazawa” gives us the courage to live. Please watch it!
