2023.11.7 Lecture@Romanian-American University, “Angela Hondru” Romanian-Japanese Study Centre
I visited Romania for the first time for the MERIDIAN International Festival in Bucharest, Romania, 5-12 November. The festival is under the artistic direction of long-time collaborator and composer Diana Rotaru.
On 7 November I gave the lecture “Noh and Contemporary Music” at the Angela Hondru Center for Romanian-Japanese Studies.
Japanese Ambassador to Romania Hiroshi Ueda also attended the lecture. This year is a memorable year, as President Johannis visited Japan in March this year and announced plans to conclude a strategic partnership with Japan. In this context, I am honoured to have the opportunity to share a little bit of Japanese culture in Romania.
ディアナ・ロタルThe centre started its activities in 2005 with Japanese language classes and now offers a wide range of courses on Japanese culture, with all courses now attracting a total of 250 participants.
