2023.11.23-26 Interview Pamphlet of the Tokyo Nikikai Opera “Gogo no eiko”
An interview is featured in the pamphlet of the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Theatre’s production of Henze “Gogo no Eiko”, to be held from 23-26 November (70th anniversary of the Tokyo Nikikai / 60th anniversary of the Nissay Theatre). My friend Alejo Perez conducts the contemporary opera “Gogo no Eiko” by the German composer Henze, based on a story by Yukio Mishima. The programme includes a three-page interview with me in which I talk about Alejo Perez. The pamphlet is available for sale at the venue for 1000 yen per copy.

I played the role of Malinche in Wolfgang Rihm’s The Conquest of Mexico at the Teatro Real de Madrid in 2013, which was conducted by Alejo Perez. Pierre Audi, the director of the New National Theatre’s Simon Boccanegra, which is running until 26 November, and Wojciech Dziedzic, the costume designer, were also in the same production. What a coincidence that they are all in Tokyo at the same time! It was great to see you all after such a long time.
